Bougary Holding is an extension of the family business that was created by Eissa J Bougary more than 135 years ago. The core of the business is the accommodation and facilitation for the pilgrims coming to the two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia. The family takes pride in being of service to the pilgrims. Eissa J Bougary established the business approximately in 1880. Once the business was established and flourished, he created an endowment for the South East Asian pilgrims in the year 1925.

Generation after generation, the business has been developed to include different hotels in Mecca. The family built the first modern hotel in Mecca called the Mecca Hotel, the first and only hotel in Mecca that held the name Mecca. The hotel was built in the 1960s. It stayed erect for more than 40 years and only in the 2000s it was demolished because of the expansion of the Holy Mosque. The hotel was approximately 450m away from the Kaaba, considered to be the closest hotel to the Kaaba when it was demolished.

Many different hotels and apartment building were built around the Holy Mosque throughout the years, most of which have been removed due to the expansion of the Holy Mosque. However, the founder has strategically bought lands around Mecca with different distances from the Holy Mosque that are being currently developed.
